Antonio Brown Is Granted Release From Raiders, Quickly Signs With Patriots

In a move that is still sending shockwaves through out the NFL, Antonio Brown asked for and was granted his release by the Oakland Raiders, after a bizarre set of circumstances.

Brown, who was seen arguing with Raiders GM Mike Mayock, threatened to punch Mayock in the face.

After this, the Raiders planned to suspend Brown, but they fined him over $200,000 and voided the close to $30,000,000 in guarantees his contract provided.

All of this led to Brown posting on Instagram yesterday that he wanted to be released, with in an hour or two of that post, the Raiders did indeed release Brown.

He wasn't unemployed for long though as he quickly inked a 1-year $15,000,000 contract with the New England Patriots, the deal won't be official until Monday.

The Pats now become the clear cut favorites to repeat as Super Bowl champions, moving their odds from 13-2 to 4-1.

Brown adds more power to an already stacked receiving core that will feature, Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, DeMaryius Thomas and now Antonio Brown.

This should be an interesting season to say the least.
