NFL Coaching Hires Part 2 01/08/2020

More coaches were hired yesterday, but right now, everyone is screaming racisim in the NFL because only one black man was interviewd for a head coaching position, that being Marvin Lewis and he was interviewed by the Dallas Cowboys, and while everyone, mainly Stephen A Smith of ESPN is crying foul, keep in mind, a minority was hired this off season, that being Ron Rivera who was hired by the Washington Redskins. But, I'm tired of hearing about black head coaches, and while I do agree that candidates like Byron Leftwich, Jim Caldwell and several others should have be considered, but when will we refer to them as simply head coaching candidates instead of BLACK coaches, I had the same problem when the Bears played the Colts in the Super Bowl over a decade ago and it was Tony Dungy coaching against his one time protege (SP?) Lovie Smith, and I thought the more interesting angle was it was teacher vs. student (Smith was an assistant under Dungy in Tampa), but no, the media instead focused on the race angle and it being two black head coaches.

When will the race war end? It shouldn't be about black head coaches, it shouldn't be about white head coaches, it should just be about head coaches.

Now, with all that being said, I do see Byron Leftwich being a head coach in the NFL, I think in the not too distant future, he'll be the HC in Tampa either during the 2020 season or the 2021 season, but Leftwich deserves to be a head coach.

How long until Herm Edwards gets the itch to return to te NFL? Jim Caldwell, who shouldn't have been fired in Detroit deserves another chance. And many people are looking at Andy Reid assistant Eric Bieniemy, honestly, this is the first time I heard his name in association with an HC job.

Bottom line, I think head coaching jobs should be given based on merit not skin color, and I look forward to the day that we no longer classify HC cadidates by whether they are black, white or hispanic.

With all of that being said, Kellen Moore who is still under contract with the Cowboys as their OC, he does have an offer to be the OC at the University of Washington is expected to be remain with the Cowboys. Now, in about 3 or 4 seasons, I do expect Kellen Moore to be considered for a head coaching position. It all starts with the 2020 season, how well does Moore do under Mike McCarthy.

Anyhow, Matt Rhule got PAID yesterday, getting an unheard of 7 year contract for $65,000,000, and the Giants hired Joe Judge.

I  just wish that this whole race war would end, just hire head coaches, not skin color.
