WWE NXT Stand And Deliver 2024 04-06-2024

I just finished watching this event, it was really good.

The 2024 NXT Stand & Deliver was held at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on the same day as WWE WrestleMania 40 Night 1 with a special start time of 11:30am EDT.

7 matches were contested, including one on the pre-show.

Here is the rundown.

Pre-Show.

Shawn Spears vs. Joe Gacy.

Joe Gacy was attacked on his way to the ring by Ridge Holland with a steel chair.

This match was okay. Joe Gacy won by pin fall after hitting a variation of The Buckshot Lariat.

Main card:

NXT Tag Team Championship:

Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin (c) vs. Axiom & Nathan Fraser

Good match, and a good bit of back & forth.

Breakker & Corbin retain by pin fall after Corbin attempted to hit End Of Days, but it was countered, and Breakker hit a spear instead.

Breakker kept paying homage to both his father Rick Steiner and Uncle Scott Steiner throughout the match.

Triple Threat Match for the NXT North American Championship

Oba Femi (c) vs. Dijak vs. Josh Briggs.

This was the match of the day, so far

Oba Femi retained by pin fall after Dijak hit his finisher for the 4th time on Briggs, Femi breaks up the pin, and power bombs Dijak on top of Briggs and cover Briggs for the victory.

6-Woman Tag Team Match:

Fallon Henley, Kelani Jordan & Thea Hall (with Chase University) vs. Izzi Dame, Jacy Jayne & Kiana James.

I wasn't very interested in this match.

Thea Hall wins the match for her team by submission.

After the match NXT General Manager Ava announces the NXT Women's North American championship

NXT Women's Chhampionship:

Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Roxanne Perez

Roxanne Perez hit a sweet combination of moves, the Pop Rocks power bomb into the crossface until Valkyria had no choice bu to tap out. Roxanne is a two-time NXT Women's champion.

NXT Championship:

Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Tony d'Angelo

A physical match.

Dragunov retains by pin fall after hitting Torpedo Moscow followed by a top rope H-Bomb forearm.

Main Event:

Carmelo Hayes vs. Trick Williams.

Okay match.

Williams wins by pin fall after the referee takes a bump, Hayes then hits Nothing But Net, a second referee enters but Williams kicks out at two, Williams then hits his finisher for the victory.

This event was good, and the perfect primer for WrestleMania Night 1.

Until next time: I'm Steve and I'm just living the dream.
