This event was awesome. This is the 3rd Survivor Series to feature the War Games match.
And it was a sold out crowd at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Colombia.
Michael Cole and Corey Graves were on the call.
Women's War Games Match:
Bianca Belair, IYO Sky, Naomi, Bayley & Rhea Ripley defeated Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, & Candice LeRae by pinfall.
Bayley started against Nia Jax.
This was a good match, Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan entered last for their respective teams.
Rhea Ripley wins the match for her team by pinning Liv Morgan. They also once again teased a Money In The Bank cash-in by Tiffany Stratton when she pulled the briefcase out of a trash can. And this is despite the fact that both champions in the match were on Stratton's team.
Also, Candice LeRae is also a champion (WWE Women's Speed champion...) but the only one not introduced as a champion. (Belair was introduced as one half of the WWE Women's Tag Team champions, Jax was introduced as the WWE Women's champion, Morgan was introduced as the WWE Women's World champion, even Tiffany was introduced as Ms. Money In The Bank...).
But anyhow, this match was good.
WWE United States Championship match:
Shinsuke Nakamura defeated LA Knight (c) by pin fall to win the title.
In my opinion, a strange booking decision.
2 of the 3 title matches on this card feature champions who were off their games.
Anyhow, Nakamura hit the Kinshasa knee strike to the back of Knight's head tne pinned him the become a 3-time US champion.
Triple Threat match for the WWE Intercontinental championship.
Bron Breakker (c) defeated Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser by pin fall.
An extremely physical match. as Cornette would say, no DQ match....LAZY BOOKING!
Kaiser busts out a (forgive me, I have no idea how to spell this word. Irish stick..and hit Sheamus with it and he was selling his ribs.
Sheamus hit the Brogue Kick on Breakker but Kaiser pulled the referee out of the ring.
Breakker then hit a spear on Sheamus and pinned him to retain.
World Heavyweight Championship match:
Gunther (c) defeated Damian Priest by technical submission.
I'll be honest with you, I tuned out by this time, honesty time, I say kudos to WWE for bringing War Games back, first to NXT and now on the main roster. But I can't be the only one who wants to see both the War Games matches and traditional Survivor Series elimination matches (Preferably 5 on 5, but it can be 4 on 4...).
But, anyhow, Finn Balor once again costs Priest a match against Gunther. After Balor hit the Coup De Gras on Priest, Gunther takes out Balor. Gunther then hits. a powerbomb on Priest and then locks in the rear naked choke and Priest passes out.
Main event:
Men's War Games match.
Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Sami Zayn & CM Punk defeat Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa & Bronson Reed by pin fall.
They teased a lot of tension between Punk and Reigns. Also by this point I'd gone to bed and finsished watching this a few minutes ago.
Punk saved Reigns when Reed went to hit a Tsunami splash off the top of the cage, Jimmy Uso then hit an Uso Splash through a table on Jacob Fatu. The Uso's then each hit a super kick on Solo, then a double team super kick, Zayn then hit a Heluva Kick on Solo, and Punk hit the Go To Sleep on Solo and Roman hit the spear for the pin.
After tbhe match, the OG Bloodline and Punk all shake hands, including Punk and Reigns.
Punk and Heyman hug at ringside and Punk alludes to the favor Heyman now owes Punk for helping Roman.
And that's how the show ended.
I thought it was an okay show, as I said I'd like to see. Both elimination tag matches along with the War Games matches. That's my only critique.
Until next tiem, I'm Steve and I'm just living the dream
